Haley!!!
Haley has a genuine love for art. After I first gave out the element project the next day she came in with an almost finished piece full of possibilities. In her art you will see many different detailed pieces, peacock feathers, newspaper pieces, splashes, annnnndddd...........
With her dad being an artist she has many influences of art at home. He works with a variety of mediums, but Haley mostly enjoys working in pencil.
Welcome parents, students, teachers, and friends! This blog will allow you to view the creations, events, news, and other adventures taking place in the art classroom!!

Elements of ART!
To start off the school year I like to teach the basics of art, aka ELEMENTS. Yes it sounds rather boring but once an artist can master the knowledge of the elements then they can push their artwork to the extreme and make their composition that much more interesting to the viewer.
The elements are: Shape, Form, Value, Space, Line, Texture, Color With each element we did a mini exercise. And then on the finally projects students choose their own objects to draw and divided them into broken pieces. This style reminds me of cubism. In each broken piece students did their own thing focusing in on one element at a time. There was such a wide variety of styles and unique eyes! Here are a few and you can see the rest hanging in the hallways.
